If you’re interested in acquiring an existing drawing or painting, please drop me a line.
At present I have room for three commissions in the schedule.
To get started
First we schedule a meeting or video conference to discuss what you’re seeking.
Then I follow up with agreement explaining the project and fees which we both sign.
It’s usual and customary for me to spend time watching, meeting and making photographs. Any additional expenses depend upon the travel distance involved and will be discussed and included in our written agreement.
Process
Below is an example of my process for creating an oil painting in the Grand Prix Series.
Timing
Allow up to six weeks for your artwork to be completed.
Starting my original artwork commission for you
After reviewing poses with you, I will create a preliminary sketch or study showing you the composition.
Progress
As I work on your piece, I’ll send you images, usually by email, at intervals we’ve agreed upon. When your piece is completed, you’ll receive an invoice for the final fee. After final payment has cleared and the painting is dry enough to transport, it will be shipped to you.
Shipping
NOTE: We may need to wait a week or two after completion to ship in order not to smudge the artwork.
If you’re within about a 50 mile radius, we are happy to deliver to you.
If you’re at a distance, we use a local framer for packing, and will have provided an estimate for packing and shipping artwork to you in our agreement.
“A work of art that did not begin in emotion is not art.”
